![]() Do you like being outside? Do you like listening to music? Do you like listening to music outside? What about listening to music when doing yardwork? Swimming? Floating? Poolside? On a boat? In the shower? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’re going to want to pick up a wireless, waterproof, and shockproof portable speaker from ECOXGEAR. These stereos are amazing! How amazing are they? They are so amazing that I own three, I bought one for my Dad, and I convinced my neighbor to get one (and he raves about it). I like to have music on when I can, but I’m often moving about the house, or yard, or lake. I need the music to come with me. I also frequently camp and tailgate. These speakers are perfectly suited for all of these activities, and they won’t break the bank, either. Also, they won’t break! We keep one in the shower, one on the boat or kayak, and one for around the house. These dynamic speakers are Bluetooth connected, but you can (and I do) plug your iPod or any other music device directly into it. Here’s a list of the major pros: IT’S FREAKING WATERPROOF You can literally throw it in the lake and it still sounds great. Perfect for those days spent floating in the lake or pool. We have a boat stereo, but it’s too loud to play if everyone is floating in the lake, so we set this either on a tube, or on the front deck of the boat. If it falls in or gets splashed…no biggie. It also floats. ![]() Battery Life The battery on this thing seems to last forever. It will last you all day, plus they come with a 12v plug-in charger so you can recharge it on the go. No more D batteries to lug around! Portability They come in different sizes, but they are all built to be taken with you. We strap it onto our kayaks, and the small one clips on to a hiking backpack and they all come with a suction cup and GoPro-like mount so they can go anywhere! Also, because it’s so portable, you don’t have to blast it. I like to listen to my music loudly. Too loudly, according to my neighbor and wife. HOWEVER, with the ECOX speaker, I can just angle it at me or place the speaker closer and problem solved. I can hear it fine, everyone else cannot. Even though I have a great taste in music that I’m sure most people would enjoy hearing, I also have a great deal of respect for not bothering other people. Sound This isn’t a $500 Sonos Play5, but it’s not trying to be. The sound is above-average. These speakers will not shake the ground, or your eardrums, but they do bring a nice mid-range and the low-levels are adequate enough. I would sum up the sound as, “I don’t know Miles, it [sounds] pretty good to me!” Considering the size of these speakers, these little guys over-deliver! Watch the video above for proof. Return on Investment: To me, the return on investment for these speakers is about 1 use, if that use is somewhere where you normally could or would not take a stereo. This is how I use mine 90% of the time, so I’ve easily made my money back in terms of enjoyment, convenience, and durability. They don’t cost much, come in all shapes and sizes, and deliver big results. You should have one. Or two. Or more.
